Ludacris has raised the ire of Nicki Minaj’s loyal fanbase after he weighed in on comments made by his ‘What’s Your Fantasy’ co-star, Shawnna.
Shawnna was talking about female rappers during an interview on Chicago radio when she seemed to call out Nicki Minaj.
Shawnna maintains that other rappers are scared to mention her name, as she alluded to Nicki Minaj’s recent interview with Joe Budden:
“I saw an interview from a female artist the other day and since she didn’t say no name, I ain’t gonna say no name. When she’s ready to say names, then we are gonna pick the beat, then we gonna hit the booth, no ghostwriters.”
Shawnna, who was once signed to Luda’s Disturbing Tha Peace label, then put out a warning to any rapper who wanted to lyrically test her:
“Rappers don’t want to give me no light. They don’t mention Shawnna. As soon as they mention Shawnna, spotlight on Shawnna, and you know what happens when they put the spotlight on me, I take off. Then when I take off…that’s less money in [their] pocket.”
Ludacris added his support to Shawnna’s comments, drawing angry replies from Nicki Minaj’s fans.
However, maybe Shawnna has a point?
What do you think?
